I'm really nervous to post here because all the photos I've seen on here have been absolutely amazing. But I decided to post one of my favorites and see what you all think.

Thank you. And yes, Mukilteo, WA. The water there is the Puget Sound.

One of the best Puget Sound shots I’ve seen.

I really like this shot, I just wish the log was in focus, but everything else (the colors, the angle, the subject) is lovely.

Hm, I've never had any one point that out. And as I look at it I actually think I blurred the front of it on purpose, and you're right, it probably would've looked better in focus. Thanks for the tip! :)

Welcome (I'm new here, too)!

I love the saturation, and composition of this shot.
After looking at it a few times - is that a person just to the left of center? Subtle, but I noticed 'him'. Not that it takes away from this shot at all...just a testiment as to how long I've looked at this photo!

Great shot!

And yes, that is a person. There actually was another person, more prominent in this photo, but I took her out. I don't know if people are against that in here, but I felt it was better without her.
Here is the "original".

hehe... glad to see that you gave it a shotbestshot :)

I like the perspective and sense of scale (something to change with a photo). It is almost like making the deadwood a mountain range.

Now that you are over the hurdle... welcome and enjoy!

ooh! very nice. a good take on something that's difficult to photograph. nice use of foreground, middle and background. good sky too. all too often we see photos of what may have been scenic vistas if only the photographer had waited till the light was better or used a polarizer.

thanks for sharing. welcome to lj photographers.

I really love the perspective here and of course the shades of blue in the sky and water. I had a feeling it was shot in the Pacific Northwest so I had a sneak peak and your user info and low and behold... :)

I look forward to see more of your photos.

Haha yup. There's kind of nothing like the Pacific Northwest.
