I put up a little explanation at http://www.flickr.com/photos/stuckincustoms/182191565/ - I did not mention seconds, but the third exposure was 30 seconds - but the HDR technique takes out some of the blown-out brights, which is nice.

I love this image, prolly the best 4th of July image I've seen in quite a few years. I also read in your Flickr about your technique. Looks like several of our members are curious about it, also. Great job, overcoming so many obstacles so successfully!

I was fearing all the fireworks photos that were going to go up today, but this one really is just stunning! I love the balance of the fireworks with the boats on the river. Really great capture.
